SAN MIGUEL, Zamboanga del Sur (May 20, 2018) –
The case investigation of San Miguel Municipal Police Station is now conducting
a thorough investigation for the possible identification and apprehension of
the suspects of shooting and hacking incident this municipality.
Case investigator PO3 Rammel M. Gansad disclosed
that on May 20, 2018 at about 7:00 AM, a dead body was found along the barangay
road of Purok 1, Barangay Langilan, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur. Upon receipt
of said report, PNP elements of San Miguel MPS responded to the place on
incident.
Upon arrival thereat, responding team saw that
several residents of said place were already at the crime scene. The team found
a dead body lying along of the abovementioned place, PO3 Gansad said.
Initial investigation conducted disclosed that,
victim was identified as Warren Deringan Y Sumadia, 26 years old, single,
jobless and a resident of Purok Quirino, Barangay Balongating, Guipos,
Zamboanga del Sur.
Further investigation revealed that, at around
1:00 o’clock in the morning of same date, while said victim armed with a bolo
was on his way walking going to the house of certain Rosendo Suela located at
same barangay.
When the victim reaching at the place of
incident, unidentified suspects waylaid him at the side of the road and shot
him many times using a caliber .45, Cal .30 carbine and a shotgun based on the
fired cartridge cases recovered at the crime scene.
One of the suspects was not yet contented
instead he stabbed and hacked the victim using his own bolo that resulted to
his sudden death, investigation said. Motive of the incident is still to be
determined.
Evidences recovered at the crime scene were the
following:
Two (2) fired cartridge cases of caliber .45,
Four (4) fired cartridge cases of caliber .30
carbine,
one (1) slug of caliber .45,
one (1) fired cartridge case of 12 gauge shotgun
and
one (1) sharp bolo measuring 62 cm with wooden
handle and scabbard.
